Job Summary:

As a key technical subject matter expert, you will ensure high equipment availability rates by utilizing preventive and predictive maintenance processes. You will rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and restore service efficiently. Collaborating with other maintenance technicians, you will solve complex problems, validate contractor work, and optimize ammonia refrigeration equipment. You will handle multiple projects with urgency and perform Root Cause Analysis to address systemic failures. Your role requires expertise in system control logic and troubleshooting techniques, and you will serve as a technical trainer for other maintenance technicians. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Roles and Duties:

• Maintain and address electrical and mechanical concerns within Ammonia Refrigeration Equipment, including evaporators, compressors, condensers, vessel packages, and piping layouts.
• Take an active part in all facets of Target's Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
• Execute preventative and problem-solving maintenance measures.
• Handle, reset, mend, or change components as needed.
• Enhance equipment efficiency by implementing cleaning, lubricating, and painting practices.
• Analyze and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting designs, transformers, and wiring methodologies suitable for voltages up to 480V.
• Ensure the proper functioning of facility equipment like Powered Industrial Trucks, HVAC systems, compressors, dryers, and balers through maintenance procedures.
• Break down and interpret electrical and electronic circuit schematics.
• Develop repair blueprints with colleagues to swiftly address critical asset malfunctions.
• Supervise and educate individuals in the Maintenance Technician Trainee program.
• Utilizing mobile devices and asset management tools can streamline the process of generating and finalizing Work Orders with precise data.
• Promote favorable interactions among colleagues at every tier of the company.
• Adhere to safety procedures and implement the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a secure workplace.
• Achieve and retain a RETA CARO certification.

Physical Demands:

• Tasks include repeated bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
• Safely ascending and descending stairs, gangways, and ladders.
• Constantly changing locations within the facility throughout shifts lasting 10-12 hours.
• Carrying and/or transferring objects with a weight limit of up to 49 pounds.
• Iterative wrist, hand, and finger gestures.
• Continuous use of handheld gadgets and computer accessories over a prolonged duration.
• Employing machinery, motorized vehicles, heavy equipment, and Powered Industrial Trucks.
• The utilization of non-powered tools such as wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and hammers.
• Exposure to environmental factors such as small/enclosed spaces, dust, poor ventilation, fumes, outdoor elements, extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, concrete flooring, and wet/uneven surfaces.

Qualifications:

• Skilled in PC operations and adept at navigating through mobile apps efficiently.
• Understanding of wiring diagrams, symbols, and electrical measurements.
• Experience in:
• Monitoring and servicing ammonia refrigeration systems in advance helps to avoid unexpected breakdowns.
• Proficiency in blueprint and schematic reading requires the capacity to interpret and decipher intricate technical drawings.
• Work order management.
• The integration of electrical components, control systems, and electronics in industrial settings.
• By using ladder logic programming, PLC systems can simulate relay logic and control complex processes with ease.
• Meeting the requirements outlined in the NEC is a key aspect of ensuring electrical systems are safe and functional.
• Compliance with IIAR standards is paramount for organizations operating in the realm of ammonia refrigeration.
• Adhering to the recommendations of the Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) can help technicians and engineers excel in their respective roles.
• Obtaining a degree from a technical or community college or acquiring certifications in areas like PLCs, Industrial Networks, Machine Logic, or Robotics, with a preference for a focus on Mechanical or Electrical aspects.
• - Experienced in the maintenance and operation of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems for four years.
• Priority will be given to applicants with CARO or CIRO certification.

• Enhancing the reliability of ammonia refrigeration systems through proactive maintenance techniques.
• The skill of interpreting blueprints and schematics requires a thorough comprehension of technical drawings and diagrams.
• Work order management.
• Industrial electrical, controls, and electronics refer to the systems and components used in manufacturing and production facilities to manage electricity and automate processes.
• Programmable Logic Control systems, known as PLCs, are utilized in various industries to automate processes using customizable logic operations.
• Meeting the requirements stipulated in the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Compliance with the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) guidelines is crucial in order to maintain a safe working environment.
• The standards put forth by the Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) for compliance.
